Andrew Rudd
Producer, Songwriter, Musician
First Note Entertainment
A lifelong fan of music and the frequencies in between, Andrew Rudd has an innate ability to hear what others don’t. “I remember listening to Michael Jackson as a kid and playing back each song over and over to be able to identify and appreciate all the parts”.
Growing up in Sydney, Australia, Andrew’s journey to now Nashville began in Hong Kong, performing in a dinner theatre house band. It was here in Hong Kong where Andrew met his other half in music and in life, Australian/Canadian, Victoria Boland. They went on to become the duo “AndrewVictoria”, independently releasing their self-titled EP. They received songwriting nods from industry heavyweights such as Dale Kawashima, who credited the duo as a “promising pop/rock, singer/songwriter” duo with Rudd “playing all the music tracks and expertly producing the cut.”
“AndrewVictoria” fast gained success in Canada, winning the National Intel Canada Superstars Competition, as well as appearing in the Top 40 of Canada’s Got Talent. AFM’s International Musician Magazine featured them as an emerging artist and they were named as Finalists in the UK Songwriting Contest. After multiple cross-Canada tours and stints in Europe & the Caribbean, it was back in Canada where “AndrewVictoria” won a 24hr songwriting contest, meeting Canadian Idol Brian Melo, who would eventually join the duo to form a new band “Apollo’s Crown”.
The band began taking songwriting trips to Nashville, eventually deciding their futures lay in Music City. They moved down to continue writing full time and to begin recording their debut album with Grammy-Nominated Producer Dave Brainard. Although the project was never released, their catalog of songs continues to receive cuts with emerging North American & Australian artists.
Having already known Tommy Jackson from performing at First Note Entertainment live shows, Andrew began working with Tommy in a new capacity at First Note. Years later he continues to develop and produce First Note catalog and artists, while building traction in the world of sync—now with multiple placements on national television. While some would say he has well and truly earned his stripes, Andrew believes he’s only at the beginning of bigger things ahead.
